Thanks again Norvin Buy a USB handset or headphones, I have played with several that only claimed PC compatibility, they all worked on the Mac (provided you did not want to use any of the "fancy" features). I would recommend the 'Cyberphone K (or is it W ?)' it works well and has Mac drivers for Skype integration.

If the latter, there's an xlite version for the Cyberphone K which will allow you to dial with the handset. Yes the latter, So I just buy a syberphone k and use it in the usb port You would use the Cyberphone K & Xlite, rather than Voipcheap's softfone. Is it just for outbound calling that you will use it for?

Many thanks Dave You could well find that Skype is the one to use - it navigates firewalls much better than SIP. That said, if you pick a SIP provider that offers a STUN server, you could be OK. Cyberphone K works well as a USB phone with either Skype or X-lite soft phone. Why not also look at Voipstunt's softphone
